At a glance: Stripe’s current global supported-country list does not show the Philippines as a standard supported country or an extended-network market. For local merchant checkout, investigate providers such as PayMongo and Xendit. Wise lists the Philippines as a country where customers can hold money. Eligible Philippine PayPal accounts can also withdraw to a fully verified GCash wallet under PayPal’s stated conditions.

Local online checkout: PayMongo and Xendit
For Philippine businesses that need to accept customer payments, local processors can be more relevant than assuming Stripe is available. PayMongo advertises cards, GCash, Maya, QR Ph and online-banking payment methods, plus no-code payment links and checkout integrations. Its published product pages state that pricing depends on payment method; verify the current rate before making a comparison.
Xendit’s Philippines pages describe cards, local e-wallets, direct debit, over-the-counter payments, PayLater and payout products. Availability depends on the specific product, account approval and merchant terms, so compare it against the methods your customers actually use.

PayPal withdrawals to GCash
PayPal’s Philippine help documentation describes a PayPal–GCash withdrawal service for eligible Philippine PayPal accounts and GCash wallets. The stated requirements include a fully verified GCash account, a Philippines-based verified PayPal account, and one-to-one linking between a PayPal account and a GCash account. Foreign PayPal accounts are not supported for this particular linking flow.
PayPal’s help page says the GCash transfer minimum is PHP 500 and that transfers typically take between two hours and three calendar days, depending on transaction value; the GCash screen displays the transaction’s current fee, exchange rate and estimated timing before confirmation. These details are specific to this route and may change, so always read the in-app confirmation screen.

Wise: distinguish transfers from account balances
Wise lists the Philippines on its current list of countries where customers can hold money and on its transfer destination information. These are different types of availability. If you need to receive client payments, local account details, business features or a Wise card, verify those requirements separately for your residence and account type.

Shopify stores: check the local provider directory
The Philippines does not appear in Shopify’s current list of supported countries for Shopify Payments online stores. Shopify says that if a store’s country is not listed, merchants need a third-party payment provider. Filter the provider directory by the store’s actual country and confirm your selected provider accepts your legal entity and supports your checkout and payout method.

Which path should you choose?
- Sell products online in the Philippines: start by comparing PayMongo and Xendit payment methods, settlement timing, refund processes and integration options.
- Receive earnings from a platform: read that platform’s payout page for the Philippines, then verify the destination service and currency.
- Get paid by overseas clients: compare PayPal and Wise using the sender’s route, receiving method, currency conversion and available withdrawal options.
- Run a Shopify store: use the payment-provider filter for the Philippines instead of assuming Shopify Payments or standalone Stripe can be activated.
